A road had to be closed and train services to and from Welshpool cancelled after a car collided with a bridge in Shrewsbury overnight.

The incident happened on Belle Vue Road during the early hours of today.
Stonework from the bridge fell on the Shrewsbury to Aberystwyth railway line below.
Transport for Wales cancelled services with road transport operating for a time. The line has since reopened.
Belle Vue Road was also closed before temporary traffic lights were put into operation.
A5191 Belle Vue Road. An RTC has resulted in part of the bridge being knocked onto the railway below. Expect road and rail (Welshpool/Aberystwyth line) disruption to continue into the morning, at least. @OPUShropshire @WestMerciaOCC pic.twitter.com/DLhS6qRexn
