The money will be donated to the Shrewsbury Ark which provides support for people who are homeless or vulnerable. The Shrewsbury Ark costs over £85,000 a year to run and is funded entirely through charitable donations.
Family and friends of Ben Bebbington said they would like to thank everyone involved, the musicians, volunteers, local media, businesses and the whole community who got behind this event and made it such an amazing success. It is a true reflection of the wonderful place we are fortunate to live in.
In response to the numerous requests about whether the event would go into a third year, the organisers would be delighted to see the event return but need to meet with various parties to see if this is possible and will let everyone know the outcome of these discussions as soon as they can.
The musical event was started by the family and friends of Mr Ben Bebbington who died in September 2012 and aims to raise awareness and funds for the Shrewsbury Ark, a charity that had supported Mr Bebbington in his later years and meant a great deal to him.
This year’s event was held on Saturday 5th April which is the Saturday closest to what would have been Ben’s 45th birthday.
