The family of a 75-year-old woman who died after a collision in Shrewsbury has paid tribute to her.
Dorothy Griffiths died after she was involved in a collision with a car outside Mellor Cycles on Saturday 9th January.
The incident occurred shortly before 4:30pm on Copthorne Road, Shrewsbury, when a silver Corsa exited Frankwell Island. It is believed she was crossing the road with her partner from outside Mellor Cycles.
Dorothy, from Leeswood, Flintshire, was taken to hospital with serious injuries but sadly died on the Sunday 10th January.
The family said: “We have been left devastated following this tragedy. Dorothy visited Shrewsbury for small vacations at least three times a year where she loved to visit with her partner Ken.
“She leaves behind three children, seven grandchildren and one young great-grandchild. She lived in a close community with her family and actively cared for her grandchildren who lived in the same village.
“We would like to thank all the people and paramedics who assisted at the scene and the Royal Shrewsbury Hospital and Royal Stoke University Hospital for all the aftercare they provided. We are asking for any witnesses to please contact police.”
Traffic Investigator Simon Pond said: “There are a number of individuals who we are still keen to speak to. This happened near a bus stop and we think that some passengers who boarded a bus to Copthorne prior to emergency services arriving on the scene may have seen what happened. We would also like to speak to the drivers of a light blue car and a small dark coloured car who were on this stretch of road at the time of the incident.”
