Woman injured after falling into canal near Adderley

The woman, believed to be in her eighties had fallen into water after apparently trying to board a canal boat.

She was rescued from the water and was treated at the scene by paramedics for hypothermia, and a leg injury.

A West Midlands Ambulance Service spokesman said: The woman was given pain relief and fully immobilised before being conveyed by air ambulance to the Royal Shrewsbury Hospital for further assessment and treatment.”

An ambulance; a paramedic officer, a paramedic in a rapid response vehicle; Community First Responder, together with the Midlands Air Ambulance from Cosford were dispatched to the scene.
