Two small businesses in Telford have announced that they have decided to join forces and work together.
Meadowdale Nurseries in Horsehay and mobile florist Denise Purnell from Doseley have decided to support each other in their complementary businesses by working together.
Denise, who works from her home studio as a free-lance florist will now be selling fresh cut flowers direct from Meadowdale Nurseries.
John Anderson, co-owner of Meadowdale Nurseries said:
“Our customers were always asking if we sold fresh cut flowers, so when Denise came to us and said that she needed an outlet to sell her flowers from, it seemed like the perfect solution.”
Denise whose business name is ‘Ginger Lily’ said:
“I have been running my floristry business from home for a few years and have been specialising in wedding flowers, but I really wanted to extend my business and start selling fresh cut flowers to the general public. I am really passionate about what I do and like to use flowers that are in season, sourced locally or home-grown wherever possible. I am a plants woman and have horticultural experience, growing many different types of flowers, so I thought Meadowdale Nurseries, with all of their plant experience, would be my perfect partner.”
Meadowdale is a family-run garden centre, which is now run by brothers John and Rob Anderson, who have been growing plants there for the last 27 years. Their parents bought the 7 ½ acre plot back in 1988, when it was simply fields, developing the Nurseries from scratch.
