Two small businesses in Telford have decided to work together for Small Business Saturday on Saturday 5th December.
Meadowdale Nurseries in Horsehay and mobile catering company ‘WOW Churros’, will be joining forces for the event, promoting each other and working in unison on the day.
The idea came about when John Anderson owner of Meadowdale Nurseries met Jason Grant, owner of ‘WOW Churros’ at an event a few months ago. The two got chatting and when John tasted the Churros he liked the product so much, he wanted to help.
John Anderson, owner of Meadowdale Nurseries said: “I was instantly attracted to the bright orange Citroen H-Van, and then even more impressed when I tried the Churros themselves. Jason mentioned that he had only been trading for a few months and was looking for events to attend. We haven’t any catering facilities at Meadowdale and therefore I thought it would be a great way to give our customers something new, and to also help Jason put Churros on the map.”
In case you haven’t tried them, Churros are a sweet fried dough, served warm, with a chocolate dipping sauce. They are served in Spain for breakfast and in most Hispanic countries as a snack.
Jason Grant, owner of ‘WOW Churros’ said: “After spending a long time living in Southern Spain, I wanted to bring Churros to the UK and set up the business in December last year. We wanted to join in with the street food revolution and bring something different to the UK – something sweet and something that can be enjoyed anytime of the day or night. We have attended lots of events and festivals, but when I met John, I thought it was a really great idea to join forces and to bring something different to his garden centre.”
