The woman believed to be in her 30s was discovered at the side of the A442 Queensway.
She was taken to the Royal Shrewsbury Hospital with head injuries, before being transferred to University Hospital of North Staffordshire.

Police are appealing for anyone who may have been in the area at around 11pm last night when the woman was cycling home from work to get in touch.
The road between Leegomery roundabout and the Hadley Park island was closed for a time whilst investigation work was carried out at the scene.
