A pedestrian has been seriously injured after being involved in a collision with a lorry on the A53 between Bings Heath and Shawbury in the early hours of this morning.

The man in his 30s suffered serious injuries in the incident and received specialist trauma care at the scene.
The incident happened at around 4.10am with emergency services including a MERIT trauma doctor, a Critical Care Paramedic and the Midlands Air Ambulance Critical Care Car attending.
A West Midlands Ambulance Service spokesperson said: “An ambulance, a paramedic officer, a MERIT trauma doctor with a Critical Care Paramedic and the Midlands Air Ambulance Critical Care Car attended the scene.
“On arrival, we discovered one patient, a man, who was the pedestrian.
“He was found to have suffered serious injuries in the incident and received specialist trauma care at the scene before being taken to Royal Stoke University Hospital.”
