Firefighters were called to help rescue a number of people after heavy rain caused flooding in Shropshire yesterday.
At Muckley near Bridgnorth, one person and two dogs were rescued from a static caravan. Four horses to were also led to safety.
Two people were rescued from vehicles at Hungerford near Craven Arms, they were rescued by water first responders.
Firefighters from Church Stretton were called to a property in Affcot following flooding. They isolated services before helping to salvage items and assist the occupier to another location.
On Hinton Lane, Pontesbury, four fire appliances including the Water Rescue Unit were mobilised from Minsterley and Shrewsbury. One female was out of the vehicle before crews arrived at the scene.
Elsewhere flooding caused problems for motorists on a number of roads including the A488 between Shrewsbury and Hanwood, A458 Shrewsbury to Cross Houses, A5 between the Preston Island in Shrewsbury and Junction 7 for Wellington. In Hadley, Telford, Church Street is closed at Hadley Road. The A49 also had flooding on the carriageway at All Stretton between Church Stretton and Longnor. Other road affected include the B4378 Brockton to B4368 at Weston. and the B4378 Brockton to Easthope Village.
Temporary traffic light have been put in place at Underhill Street in Bridgnorth to prevent flood water entering a roadside property.
Trains between Shrewsbury and Hereford are suspended following flooding on the line at Craven Arms. A replacement bus service is in operation.

– River Teme and its tributaries downstream of Ludlow
– River Teme, River Onny and River Corve and their tributaries upstream of Ludlow
– Rea and Cound Brooks and their tributaries
– Rivers Tern, Perry, Roden, Strine and Meese and their tributaries
– Ledwyche Brook and River Rea
– Severn Vyrnwy Confluence
The following advice has been issued by Shropshire Fire and Rescue Service:
– Do not attempt to drive through flooded roads or fords and do not attempt to walk through flooded areas
– Children should not be allowed to play in flood water, due to contamination
– Keep an eye on weather reports on local television or radio channels and look after your neighbours
