Members of the public will get another chance to view Shrewsbury’s historic buildings and townscape from on high when the town’s Market Hall stages a second round of roof-top tours to meet popular demand.
A series of tours, held to mark the building’s 50th anniversary in September, booked up quickly.
New tours, led by town guide and local historian Stan Sedman, will take place on Saturday October 31 at 10.30am, 11.30am, 12.30pm and 1.30pm.
“The tours proved extremely popular in September and were booked up very quickly. Because many people couldn’t get a place and were left disappointed, we decided then that we should run some more,” said market facilities manager Kate Gittins.
“Priority will be given to those already on our waiting list, but there are still plenty of spaces available.”
Mr Sedman, who has been a town guide for 10 years, said: “This is another fantastic opportunity to see some of Shrewsbury’s beautiful buildings and townscape from a different angle.”
Mr Sedman is co-author of “A Portrait of Shrewsbury” a book which celebrates the town’s historic buildings.
People wanting to go on one of the tours are urged to book a place in advance by contacting Mrs Gittins at Kate.Gittins@shropshire.gov.uk or on 01743 351067.
