On Saturday 10 October, the Vulcan XH558 will be flying over Shropshire as part of a tour of England before being retired.
The former RAF bomber will fly a circuit across northern England and Scotland on Saturday and then another circuit around southern England and Wales on Sunday.
The three and a half hour flight will see the Vulcan take off from Doncaster after lunch on Saturday.
Amongst the places being visited on Saturday are Gainsborough, Brough, Menwith Hill, Leeming, Durham Tees Airport, Newcastle Airport, Eshott Airfield, Alnwick, East Fortune, Carlisle Airport, Bowness on Windermere, Warton, Barton, Manchester Airport, Woodford, RAF Cosford, East Midlands Airport and Derby.
Expected at some time between 2pm and 3.30pm, the plane will appear in the Shropshire skies north of Whitchurch and is expected to fly over RAF Cosford before leaving the county.
The route will see it fly over Grindley Brook, Iscoyd Park and Welshampton before it turns over Springs Brook and heads on a straight flight path towards Baschurch.
After passing over Baschurch, the plane will fly a route just east of Montford Bridge before it turns just west of Stapleton to make its way towards RAF Cosford.
En-route to Cosford, XH558 will pass over Cound, Cressage, Coalbrookdale and Madeley before arriving at RAF Cosford. Cosford is its final turning point in Shropshire before heading towards Cannock and continuing the rest of its tour.
The former RAF bomber, returned to the skies in October 2007, and is the last flying example anywhere in the World of the Avro Vulcan.
The V-Bomber became a symbol of British strength in the deterrent years following World War II and was also used to great effect during the Falklands conflict until it retired from service in 1984.
This weekend isn’t XH558’s final landing as they intend at least two more flights in late October before it retires from flying.
