Pupils and teachers at Prestfelde School in London Road are aiming to raise several hundred pounds for the ‘Dreams Come True’ cause.

“We are encouraging everyone to come in their pyjamas and donate £1 to the charity,” said Mrs Emma Thelwell, head of Little Prestfelde.

“As there are almost 300 pupils here and around 40 teachers we should collect a very substantial amount of money for this worthwhile organisation which helps terminally and seriously ill children to fulfil their dreams,” Mrs Thelwell added.

Prestfelde is linking the event with National Story Telling week.

As part of this, Sally Tonge, a Shropshire-based
storyteller, musician
and community artist will be visiting the school to entertain the children.

“Various other initiatives have been held around school to mark National Story Telling Week and as a fitting end to the campaign the children will be encouraged to bring in their favourite books and stories to share and take part in storytelling sessions.

“We will all be able to relax in our pyjamas and onesies and enjoy hearing some much-loved stories. We are all really looking forward to a special event.”

To enthuse the children further, parents are being asked to donate cakes and biscuits which will be sold in aid of the charity at break time. There will also be a raffle for a special cake and a hamper.
