Mr Mallin died when his Suzuki GSXR 1000 motorcycle was involved in a collision with a silver coloured Mercedes Sprinter van near the Newcott fish and chip shop just before 7.45pm.
A post mortem was due to be held today and an inquest is expected to open early next week.
Police are continuing to investigate the circumstances and have renewed their appeal for witnesses.
A West Mercia Police spokesperson said: “Mr Mallin was travelling towards Tern Hill and the van in the opposite direction towards Newport.
“We want to hear from anyone who saw the actual collision or the vehicles immediately beforehand. We also want to speak to anyone who was in the fish and chip shop at the time and heard or saw anything that could help us with our enquiries.”
