The man, together with a 52-year-old woman, were arrested by police last night when a search warrant was carried out under the Misuse of Drugs Act at a home in Percy Thrower Avenue.
Officers made a forced entry to the premises and arrested the two people a short time later. Seventeen cannabis plants were recovered.
The man has been charged with producing cannabis, a Class B controlled drug, at the house and will appear before Shrewsbury magistrates on October 20.

The woman was given a caution for permitting the production of a controlled drug.
