A local business network dedicated to promoting environmental best practice is celebrating after marking the first anniversary partnering with a fellow Telford-based firm.

The Business Environmental Support Scheme for Telford (BESST) has recently celebrated one year working alongside Zen Communications, which has seen the PR agency spearhead a communications campaign aimed at encouraging more businesses to pledge their support to improving their environmental impact.

Zen was called upon by the network to help spread the message of environmental good practice to members and stakeholders across the region, not only to encourage them to reduce their carbon footprint and become more environmentally-conscious, but help them make significant financial savings too. Since forming the partnership, the agency has helped increase membership numbers by raising the profile of the network across the region, with a marked increase in businesses attending events and breakfast meetings.

Jaclyn Kitson, BESST Network Coordinator, explained:

“It’s been a fantastic first year working with Zen and the campaign has not only helped increase our membership but it’s really driven awareness across the county and beyond – so much so that other regions are copying BESST’s format because of its success. Over the past year BESST has really gone from strength-to-strength, and not only have we hosted some brilliant events, but we’ve also secured some leading industry speakers.”

Felicity Wingrove, Managing Director of Zen Communications, said:

“It’s been a pleasure working alongside BESST for the past year, developing a robust PR strategy to help the network communicate effectively with both its members and stakeholders. We look forward to continuing to support BESST in the future, and helping to spread the message of environmental best practice.”
