Caring Angels, based in Harlescott, Shrewsbury, had a successful visit from the Care Quality Commission (CQC) and has since been approved to carry out care services.

The company, set up in May by Becky Morris, had six customers waiting for the home care services.

Miss Morris said: “We have been offering services like housework, taking people shopping and to appointments since we started but a lot of people had been asking us for personal care.

“It was something I had intended to branch out into but you have to be legally registered to provide personal care so we needed to wait until we were able to.

“The CQC registration means we can double the services we offer, we do respite as well a range of personal care, and we may need to increase staff numbers in the near future.”

The company, which has seven members of staff with a combined 135 years experience, will now have yearly inspections and spot inspections from CQC officers.

It also offers a 12 week induction programme for new staff and 22 in house courses to help train and develop staff.

Miss Morris, 36, a former Mary Webb School and Radbrook College pupil, has worked in the industry since the age of 17.

She added: “Caring Angels has customers within an eight mile radius of Shrewsbury.

“We also offer companionship, medication support, end of life care, support with day center and wellbeing pop in visits.

“This new registration is an exciting time for the business.”
