Shrewsbury-based Radfield Home Care is supporting Dignity Action Day, which will take place on Saturday 1st February, and aims to ensure that people who receive the support of care services are treated as individuals and are given a choice, and a sense of purpose in their daily lives.
Dignity Action Day is part of the wider Dignity in Care campaign, and aims to promote dignity and respect for those who rely upon the support of health, social care, and community services. The awareness day was launched as a reminder of providing high quality care services in hospital, care homes and people’s own homes, as although thousands of care providers act with compassion, there have been isolated cases where elderly and vulnerable people have been exposed to neglect.
The Shrewsbury branch will be hosting its own very special Digni-Tea event all-day this Friday at its premises at 7 Frankwell, and is inviting visitors to come along for a cup of tea in aid of Dignity Action Day.
Dr Hannah MacKechnie, Founder of Radfield Home Care, explained: “We are raising awareness of the Dignity Action Day as it’s a campaign we feel very passionately about at Radfield Home Care. Many of our clients depend on the support shown by our staff, and as dignity champions we truly believe that it is their basic human right to be treated with compassion and respect. To maintain this way of thinking across our dedicated team of carers, we deliver ongoing training, as well as support and guidance to ensure our team provide the utmost care and compassion to our clients,” concluded Hannah.
