The fire broke out at around 1.30am at Bedstone College near Bucknell in south Shropshire.
Firefighters from Clun and Leintwardine attended the College and dealt with the emergency.
Headmaster David Gajadharsingh said “I am so pleased that our emergency procedures have proved to be robust and the safety of all residential students and staff was not compromised.
“Unfortunately, we are currently without emails or access to the internet and have a reduced landline capacity. Our main switchboard is available on 01547 530303.
“We are positive that normal service will be resumed very shortly and the school is operating a normal working day.”
Mr Gajadharsingh added “Our sincere thanks to the Fire Service for their calm professionalism, and to all boarding staff and students for ensuring the safe evacuation of all.”
No-one was hurt in the incident.
