Hosted by Women in Rural Enterprise (WiRE), based at Harper Adams university near Newport, the event was organised by the Spanish Chamber of Commerce in the UK and took place on Wednesday.
The delegation of women, who all run rural businesses in Spain, travelled to the UK especially for the one-day conference which featured a number of speakers and experts, panel discussions featuring WiRE members and Spanish rural businesswomen, networking opportunities and stands set up by WiRE members.
The event also featured a translation booth to ensure all the information was interpreted for the Spanish guests.
Fiona Davies, WiRE Business Manager, said: “Rural businesses are incredibly diverse and creative; working together, sharing ideas and learning from each other to create and grow successful rural businesses.
“The networking with our European business colleagues was a fantastic opportunity to learn new ways of working and increase business.
“The day was packed with speakers, business experts, Q &A sessions with WiRE member stands to illustrate the diversity of rural business plus plenty of networking – not forgetting the best of Shropshire food.
“It was a fantastic event with lots of meeting of minds and suggestions to do more European work.”
WiRE is the only national UK organisation to promote, support and develop rural businesswomen and supports more than 2,000 rural businesses.
