A man was assaulted in Telford earlier this month after he shook his head in disagreement to an altercation between a man and a woman.
Police have just released details of the incident which happened between 4:30pm and 5:15pm on Saturday 2 April.
The 37-year-old victim was stood on Catterick Close, Leegomery in Telford when he overheard a verbal altercation between a man and a woman nearby.
Out of concern for the woman’s safety, the victim shook his head in disagreement with the man involved in the verbal altercation with the woman.
The man then approached the victim and became verbally aggressive. He tried to headbutt the victim. The victim dodged the attack and the man swung his right arm at the victim. The victim again dodged the offender but as the victim pulled back, he became aware of a stinging pain to the left side of his face.
The victim sustained a cut to the side if his face which required medical treatment.
It is believed that the man was carrying a bladed weapon, described as a retractable knife with a blue handle.
The man then made further attempts to strike the victim but was unsuccessful.
A resident of Catterick Close heard the commotion and came outside. The offender threatened the resident before leaving the scene with the woman.
The offender is described as a white man aged and was thought to be approximately 25-years-old.
He is believed to have medium length chestnut brown hair. He had blue eyes and a lean face. He did not wear glasses and had no visible tattoos. The man was described as being of medium build. At the time of the incident he was wearing a black sports jacket with a light coloured top underneath and white trainers.
The woman who accompanied the man is believed to be white and in her early twenties with dyed jet black shoulder length hair. The woman had a clear stud piercing above her upper lip. At the time of incident she was wearing black and white items of clothing.
