Flood Warning issued for River Severn in Shrewsbury

The environment agency has today issued a flood warning for the River Severn in Shrewsbury.

A peak level of between 4.2 and 4.6 metres is expected to occur on Wednesday afternoon.

The Environment Agency has erected flood barriers in Frankwell.

Frankwell car parks are closed today along with St Julians Friars, but plenty of parking is available in other areas of the town.

Roads around Llanymynech and Vyrnwy confluence are also badly affected by flooding.

– River Severn at Montford Bridge and Shrawardine
– River Severn at Shrewsbury
– River Severn at the Showground and The Quarry, Shrewsbury
– River Perry at Mytton

– River Teme, River Onny and River Corve and their tributaries upstream of Ludlow
