Drayton Tyre Services is the latest company to sign up for the ICare Card scheme run by Shropshire Rural Community Council in support of family carers.

The countywide charity scheme aims to help unpaid family carers by offering a discount on goods and services, with Buttercross Tea Rooms and Sherwood Wholefoods already taking part in Market Drayton.

Mike Arnold, of Drayton Tyre Services said:

“We are delighted to become part of this scheme and happy to offer a substantial discount on tyres, batteries, exhaust and tracking services to carers and their friends, who we know provide such a dedicated and essential service.”

Julie Alanthwaite, of Shropshire RCC Carers Support Service, added:

“We are very pleased with the response from businesses so far, but still need to promote the ICare Card scheme and increase the local support for carers, while at the same time encouraging more potential customers for members.

“This is out first tyre centre member in the county and we are still appealing for further scheme members from all trades and services in the Market Drayton area.

Any participating businesses will be provided with an information pack and an ICare Scheme sign for display, while carers have their own photo ID cards to qualify for relevant discounts.”

Businesses interested in joining the ICare Card scheme can obtain further information from the RCC Carers Support Line on 01743 341995.
