Buonisimo

A new Italian restaurant has opened in Shrewsbury on the first floor of a prominent town centre property.

Jessica Asfalda has been delighted with the positive response by customers to her traditional Italian cooking at La Corallina, which has opened at Shearman’s Hall, Milk Street, Shrewsbury.

Specialising in clay oven cooked pizza, pasta dishes and a range of authentic Italian desserts, the restaurant employs eight full and part-time staff and is open seven days a week.

Jessica moved from Naples to Shropshire three years ago and was previously a catering manager before opening her own restaurant, which is open plan with seating for 60 covers and a bar area.

The accommodation extends to 1,420 square feet and incorporates attractive wall panelling, infra-red heating ceiling panels, WC facilities, a kitchen, drinks store and a lift from the ground floor foyer area. Stone mullioned windows, which look down the length of the High Street, are a particular feature of the property and flood the restaurant with light.

Rebecca Welch, from Halls Commercial, said she was delighted that the company had been able to help Jessica find a property for her first restaurant, which was already exceeding her expectations.
