Products which scooped top honours at the HEART of ENGLAND fine foods Diamond Awards take pride of place in a four course menu which will ties in with English Wine Week.
The TASTE Kitchen @ Origins, on London Road, is hosting the gourmet evening on Friday with support from Shropshire’s own award-winning winemaker Wroxeter Roman Vineyard.
Mark Bodley, food and beverage manager at TASTE Kitchen, said: “The heart of England region is packed full of fantastic food and drink produced by HEFF members and we’re delighted to bring so many of them together for a TASTE Kitchen Gourmet Evening.
“Producers who scooped 2014 Diamond Awards feature in each course, including drinks from Story Brands and The Tipsy Tart, and there will also be a tutored tasting of English wine to match the start, main course and dessert from Wroxeter Roman Vineyard.”
Products from Shropshire-based Zingh Foods, Just Crisps, The Kitchen’s Fine Food, The Pie Creator, Martins Meats and Sue Gilmour will be used by HEFF’s chefs to create the menu which will include a Tandoori chicken starter, daube of beef and a salted lemon chocolate tart.
Mr Bodley added: “The top honour at the Diamond Awards went to Churchfields Farmhouse Ice Cream and its Worcestershire plum ice cream will be a perfect way to end what we know will be a superb gastronomic experience.”
The cost is £24.95 for a four-course menu, including a welcome cocktail, tasting plate and wine. To finish, guests will enjoy coffee and Black Cherry Merangz Bites from award-winner The Little Round Cake Company.
