Passengers on the Heart of Wales Line face disruption from tonight as Network Rail prepares to carry out significant engineering and maintenance works.
Work to tackle the problem of pigeons nesting and fouling under Shrewsbury’s railway bridge is due to begin this evening, Monday 11 August, following discussions between Shropshire Council and Network Rail.
A £1 million vegetation management programme on the Heart of Wales line is underway, with the aim of reducing delays and cancellations caused by fallen trees.
