Car stolen during spate of burglaries around Oswestry

The black Audi S3, registration MA08 HHG, was driven off after the keys were taken from the kitchen at the address.

Entry was gained by forcing a French door between 4.10pm and 4.20pm on Friday. The thieves also stole an airgun worth £150, a Citizen diver’s watch worth £300 and caused about £500 damage.

Police say the vehicle was found burnt out yesterday on the B5129 Flint Road at Mold in North Wales.

West Mercia Police today appealed for information, which might help their investigation. “We are anxious to hear from anyone who spotted suspicious activity in the village of Morton on Friday or who may have spotted the black Audi being driven away. Contact Oswestry police station on the non-emergency 101 number.”

Information can also be given to the anonymous independent Crimestoppers charity on 0800 555 111, for which a reward may be paid.

Police have also issued a witness appeal in connection with two other household burglaries in the Oswestry area.

Thieves forced a door of a house in Glyn Morlas, St Martins, between 1.30pm and 4pm on Saturday, making off with several electrical items.

Jewellery and cash were stolen after burglars broke into a house in High Street, Weston Rhyn between 12pm on Friday and 7.40pm Saturday. They ransacked the premises after forcing a window to gain entry.
