Supervisors Carol Pillow, Sharon Robinson, Kay Farnsworth and Leverne Roberts of Shrewsbury-based Radfield Home Care, which also has offices Worcester, Stafford and Chester, completed extensive training to obtain Level 2 Certificates in Understanding the Safe Handling of Medicines.

The Level 2 Certificate aims to develop the knowledge of employees working closely with clients, and offers an introduction to the various medicines likely to be encountered in the work environment. Course attendees cover possible side effects of medicines, how they are supplied and administered, and the legislation and procedures for obtaining, storing and disposing of medicines. It also emphasises the importance of the audit process and issues surrounding responsibility, accountability and confidentiality.
