Chefs from HEART of ENGLAND fine foods (HEFF) have designed a five-course dinner especially for Shropshire food lovers on February 14 at the TASTE Kitchen at Shrewsbury College.

The Origins restaurant has been transformed in recent weeks into a top class venue, part of a major £15 million development at the London Road site.

HEFF chefs will be cooking up a recipe for romance, starting off with Fish in a Box Tempura oyster with lemon thyme syrup or spiced cauliflower with Heather’s Harvest sweet chilli jam.

Lynn Wood, marketing executive at HEFF, said: “Oysters are well known for their aphrodisiac qualities, but so are chilli and truffles, which also feature in our starter choice.

“Our chefs have been working hard to design a menu which not only showcases some of the fantastic produce from our region, and some products developed by HEFF members, but which also is food made for lovers.

“For example, for dessert, we have a sharing plate for two featuring a chocolate fondant, white chocolate fruits and honey and almond ice cream with glazed lemon tart.”

Sandwiched between the starters and delicious desserts are slow cooked belly of Jamie Ward’s pork, puy lentils, honeyed spinach, black pudding mousse, apple puree, crackling and Heart of England Farms breast of duck, hassle back potatoes, celeriac puree, baby vegetables, orange and port sauce.

Bookings can be made by calling 01743 452818.
