Shropshire-based bespoke sausage roll producer, Coopers Gourmet Sausage Rolls, has secured contracts with two of the country’s most upmarket department stores, Harrods, and Selfridges, to showcase five varieties of its product at the stores’ food halls throughout the forthcoming year.
Since its launch in 2010, the firm has gone from strength-to-strength, not only expanding its range to 20 varieties of sausage rolls, with three vegetarian options, but increasing its overall productivity to over 15,000 sausage rolls per week in just 12 months. In addition to the firm’s recent contract successes, it is also celebrating the rapid growth of its team, welcoming 12 new employees in the past 12 months, to help support increasing demand from customers for its gourmet products.
Ivan Watkiss, Founder and Owner of Coopers Sausage Rolls, said: “We are absolutely delighted to have secured contracts with Harrods and Selfridges, luxury retailers which are internationally -renowned for showcasing some of the best food products available. Since our launch three years ago, from our own deli in Shropshire, Coopers has expanded at a rapid rate, and our products are now available at more than a hundred outlets locally, as well as nationally.
“As a brand, we are passionate about producing food at the highest quality, and the sausage roll is often a food product that’s gets a lot of negative press, but if made properly with the right ingredients, can be absolutely delicious. Our sausages rolls are produced from the finest ingredients, which are both free range and locally sourced, which removes a considerable amount of food miles in the process. All our sausage rolls are produced at our bespoke food production unit in Shropshire and undergo a rigorous quality control and tasting process, to ensure only the highest quality products make our clients’ shelves.
“We are constantly looking at ways to diversify in line with our clients’ needs, whilst maintaining our commitment to quality and we are delighted to have launched our very own gourmet scotch eggs, currently offering four varieties. Initial response has been fantastic, and the Co-operative and Selfridges have already placed orders of the product,” Ivan concluded.
