A 30-year-old man from Shrewsbury has been arrested on suspicion of rape following a serious sexual assault in the town.
The incident happened between 9pm and 11pm on Saturday 7 March 2015 on the Meadows between Ditherington and Greenfields.
Police are keen to trace three girls who were thought to be in the area of Wingfield Close and may have seen a male with a female in her 20’s, walking towards the Railway Bridge to the Meadows. It is believed the suspect is known to the victim.

Anyone who witnessed the incident or has any information is urged to contact police on 101 quoting incident number 58 of 8 March
The man is on conditional bail until Tuesday 28 April, whilst further enquiries are carried out.
