Bridgnorth’s Andy Jordan ended the 2015 Michelin Clio Cup Race Series campaign in style at Silverstone International Circuit over the weekend, after claiming a magnificent double victory to conclude the year third in the title standings.
Enjoying a dream finish to an otherwise challenging season, the Finesse Motorsport driver having been hampered by bad luck on more than one occasion, Jordan dominated qualifying to secure pole position for rounds 12 and 13 and then converted both into great wins.
Winning race one by a mere 0.2 seconds after a major challenge from James Dorlin (Barnsley), in the second outing Jordan opened up a dominant winning margin over the last few laps to take the chequered flag almost seven seconds clear – a huge margin in Clio Cup Series racing.
“My start wasn’t the best in race two, Luke [Herbert] got a blinding start – as he always does – and then I just sat behind him as my rear tyres just hadn’t come in”, said Jordan, “After that I started to put some pressure on and managed to do a move around Stowe, when Paul [Streather] got onto the back of him I was able to move away. The backmarkers timed perfectly for me – it’s a great way to end the year.”
