Train passengers commuting between Shrewsbury and Chester faced cancellations this morning after the line was closed.
Services were suspended after a member of signalling staff that looks after the line between Wrexham General and Shrewsbury was taken ill.
An Arriva Trains Wales spokesperson said: “Disruption is expected until around 11am this morning with replacement road transport being arranged with Merediths and Lakeside coaches from Shrewsbury to Chester in both directions. The road service will call at all stations.”
Problems began on the line at 6am this morning with the first train affected being the 6.10am Shrewsbury to Wrexham train.
Any passenger that has seen a delay in service of 30 minutes or more could be entitled to compensation. Those affected are advised to keep their tickets to accompany any claim. More information can be found at www.arrivatrainswales.co.uk/passengerscharter.
