Construction for what will be the region’s biggest children’s event has started in the quarry, Shrewsbury.
Shropshire Kids Festival, which has over 100 activities taking place on both 23rd and 24th April, is attracting tickets sales from across the country, including Scotland and the South East.
Organiser Beth Heath said: “We really seem to have captured people’s imagination with this festival. It’s the first time something aimed specifically at children has been created and we have poured our hearts and souls into bringing together some amazing attractions.”
The programme includes everything from sports to cookery, baby yoga to bug hunting, fun Chinese to a foam party. There will also be a world record attempt for The Harry Johnson Trust running across the weekend, to create the longest chain of paper hearts.
Beth added: “Kids right from babies through to early teens will find something that interests them.”
Tickets are priced at £6.00 per child and £1.00 per adult, which entitles a child to participate in most activities for free. Where there is a charge, a percentage will go to the events chosen charity, the Harry Johnson Trust. A local charity which offers help and support to children, who receive care from the Oncology team at The Princess Royal Hospital in Shropshire, as they go through their journey with childhood cancer.
