Work to resurface the A5 westbound between Wellington and Shrewsbury gets underway this evening.
The £4 million pound scheme sees the re-surfacing of lane 2 of the M54 midway between junctions 6 & 7 westbound and the re-surfacing of the westbound sliproad at junction 7 of the M54, the re-surfacing then continues from this point where the M54 changes to the A5 to resurface lanes 1 & 2 westbound to the junction of A49 Preston Boats.
The works then change direction to re-surface the A5 from the junction of A49 eastbound to junction 7 of the M54. Included within the re-surfacing is the replacement of line markings, road studs and loops.
Works are due to start today and are set to be completed by 23 August. They will be carried out between 8pm and 6am with one weekend closure.
