London Midland and Arriva Trains Wales services were today replaced by busses after problems were encountered during weekend engineering works near Wolverhampton.
Arriva trains are operating a bus replacement service between Shrewsbury and Wolverhampton and Aberystwyth and Shrewsbury.
London Midland is running a shuttle train service between Shrewsbury and Telford.
London Midland
– Stopping services between Shrewsbury and Birmingham New Street will not run
– A rail shuttle service will operate between Shrewsbury and Telford
– A replacement bus service will run between Telford and Wolverhampton
– Passengers travelling between Shrewsbury and Wolverhampton / Birmingham New Street should travel via alternative routes.
– Codsall and Bilbrook will not receive a replacement bus or rail service, passengers should use National Express West Midlands services.
Arriva Trains Wales
– Cambrian Line services between Aberystwyth / Pwllheli and Birmingham International will only run between Aberystwyth / Pwllheli and Shrewsbury then be diverted to Crewe
– Services between North Wales (Holyhead / Llandudno Junction) and Birmingham International via Chester and Shrewsbury will not run between Shrewsbury and Birmingham International
– Buses will run between Shrewsbury and Wolverhampton and also between Aberystwyth and Shrewsbury
Network Rail, apologised for the overrunning work and advised passengers to check with National Rail Enquiries before travelling.
Work on the line will be carried out this evening.
