His Deputy Barrie Sheldon is also hoping to be out with the force on Friday in Hereford where he’s taking the opportunity to find out more about the alcohol reduction strategy for the city.

Operation Christmas Presence sees more police officers out on patrol across Herefordshire, Shropshire, Telford & Wrekin and Worcestershire to help ensure people have a great Christmas and New Year, and one that’s memorable for all the right reasons.
Bill said: “I’m really looking forward to going out with the officers and learning all about Operation Christmas Presence.
“Whilst out and about I’ve learnt that anti-social behaviour is a real concern for people, and is one which is shared across the whole of the West Mercia area. Alcohol often plays a part in this, especially at the weekends and over the festive period. It’s because of this that I am keen to focus on working with the force and partners to tackle antisocial behaviour and cut crime.”
Barrie added: “Operation Christmas Presence is an excellent campaign which focuses on tackling anti-social behaviour and drink-fuelled crime. This type of crime is something that too many people have experienced.”
