Telford’s Danielle Brown wins archery gold

It went down to the last arrow, with Dani shooting a 9 to Mel’s 7. Meaning Dani successfully defended her Paralympic title by winning the Gold at the home Paralympics and Mel winning the silver medal winner.

At 24 years-old Dani is three times World Champion, European champion and gold medal winner at the 2010 Commonwealth Games having qualified to compete with non-disabled athletes.

At 15 Dani was diagnosed with reflex sympathetic dystrophy, a neurological disorder that causes searing pain through her legs. This pain is constant; the only time she is able to block out the pain is whilst she is competing at Archery.

Dani won Britain’s 20th gold medal of the Paralympic Games.
