North Salop Wheelers, a community bus project, has embarked on a new venture offering a vintage taxi for Weddings.
The new venture “Wheeler Weddings“ using a vintage taxi they acquired last year. There are only two remaining examples of this model on the roads in the UK and N S Wheelers have invested a lot of effort over the winter bringing the Winchester up to spec for use by the public.
But the taxi won’t be undertaking normal taxi work, but will be used for executive hire, Weddings, proms, evening out and any other event where the hirer wants to be seen in a special motor vehicle.
NS Wheelers, which is not for profit, aims to raise money for their main service which provides an essential bus service to residents without their own means of transport for essential journeys.
The team are asking anyone planning a Wedding who would like to hire this unique vehicle to get in touch, not only to arrive in style, but also at the same time raise money for their essential community bus service. You can find out more by following their new twitter account @wheelerswedding
John Harrison, from North Salop Wheelers, is also keen to find more volunteers especially younger communities members to join them in their mission: “We are all getting older and we need to recruit some younger blood, we are calling upon people interested in transport, to work with us so that we can continue to help those without access to a motor car but who still need to get out of their homes to conduct their daily business.
