Shrewsbury Railway Heritage Trust has launched their 2016 calendar featuring images from Shropshire’s railway history, and using images courtesy of the Russell Mulford Collection.

The front-cover features a BR Standard 4, number 75048 as it heads for the Cambrian from a photograph by Russell Mulford; and the second image features King Edward VI at the Severn Bridge Junction Signal Box, Shrewsbury and is by Dave Giddins (pictured below). The calendar will be on sale at the Trust’s Open Day & Book Sale being held between 10am and 4.40pm on 13th September. More details here

A spokesman for the Trust said: “The calendar is a limited edition and features some superb scenes in Shropshire. It has been produced as a tribute to the late Russell Mulford, who was an avid supporter of Shropshire railways and their rich history. Our appreciation goes to Geoff Cryer for his valuable assistance and to Russell Mulford’s family. People can treat themselves or someone else to an attractive calendar brim-full of nostalgia!”
