Part Two – The Triangle Mystery
One of the biggest officially documented UFO sightings took place over RAF Shawbury on 31st March 1993.
The object, observed by the base meteorological officer, was a Black Triangle approximately the size of a Jumbo Jet. It was first seen stationary, then accelerated erratically at an estimated several hundred miles per hour before coming to a stop again. From the Black Triangle, a searchlight-type beam was emitted, scanning the ground from left to right as if looking for something. A low-frequency hum could also be heard emanating from the craft.
This UFO sighting over Shawbury was witnessed not only by personnel at the base but also by numerous police and military officers across the country that night, making it one of the most significant sightings in the UK.
Leegomery Black Triangle
Shropshire has seen repeated visits from Black Triangle craft. In September 2009, an ex-military officer reported seeing a Black Triangle just above her home in Bomere Heath, near Shrewsbury.
Just before Christmas 2009, a wave of sightings swept across the county. I received a remarkable photograph of a Black Triangle flying low over houses in Leegomery, Telford. The photo was taken on 23rd December at around 18:00. Despite the dark sky and snowfall, the streetlight illumination highlighted the object clearly. It appeared as a Black Triangle with red lights at each point.
A few days before this, two police officers witnessed a Black Triangle over Donnington and were stunned by the sighting.
I also received a call from a local resident, Jane Bowen, who lives only about a quarter of a mile from my home in Shrewsbury. She reported that the night before, while getting ready for bed, her husband shouted, “Quick, quick! Come here!” He had seen a bright flash of light outside their house.
Jane ran downstairs and into the garden, where she witnessed a very unusual V-shaped object hovering just above her home. The craft was massive, with eight large orange lights — four along each side of the V. The sighting lasted approximately three minutes.
During this time, Jane noticed a helicopter flying over the area, hovering and circling the neighborhood as if searching for something. The presence of the helicopter added a layer of mystery and suggested some form of monitoring was occurring during the UFO sighting.
