A fully packed list of events are lined up over the next 23 days, which is set to bring a host of talent to Ludlow.
A thousand performers; a hundred events, across forty venues in twenty three days: it might sound like a massive undertaking for a small place like Ludlow…but the town`s Fringe Festival is about to get under way.
Ludlow will come alive with a range of Music, Comedy, Theatre, Art and Literature events, running from June 13 to 5 July 2015, at various locations across the town.
Included in this year’s mix is:
Comedy : from TV favourite Gary Delaney to the hilariously subversive Mark Thomas, and an affectionate, moving Laurel and Hardy show.
Music: Classical, soul, choral, folk, Gershwin, Cajun, Morris.
Theatre: Shakespeare in a Day; Joanne Tremarco’s acclaimed one woman improvised show with a name too saucy for the programme(!), The Tempest, Pinter, a play by Pentabus Theatre’s Young Writers as well as the story of Shropshire`s own social activist Eglantyne Jebb.
Literature: crime writing workshops; Gareth Owen`s emotive family memories, and Kate Charles launching her new book.
Visual Arts: art created live in the Square; a GPS art competition and an art trail around abandoned rooms, cafes, and historic buildings; plus dance, sculpture, storytelling and film, and much more!
Director Anita Bigsby says: “In just three years, Ludlow Fringe has gone from strength to strength, delivering a full range of arts events and activities to suit all ages and tastes. It`s also started to attract the attention of some big names on the Fringe circuit, with both national and international performers requesting to be in the programme.”
