A new face has joined the team at a family run pharmacy in Shrewsbury.
Mandy Martindale of Hanwood, has taken up the role of medicines counter assistant at Lunts Pharmacy in Hereford Road.
The 52-year-old previously worked at Rowlands Pharmacy in Bayston Hill for seven years before taking some time out of work.
She said she is delighted to work with the team at Lunts and is enjoying her new role.
“I was thrilled to get this job and it is absolutely great, the staff are lovely and so helpful,” she said.
“I am really enjoying it, there is
a friendly and wonderful atmosphere, I couldn’t ask for more.
“It is very different to previous roles I have had – being a family run
business rather than a national chain, the way they do things is very different
here, I am learning the systems and efficiencies they have in place.
“There’s also a wider range of products on offer here and it means the customer base is different – people come in for all different purposes and I have enjoyed having a chat with customers and and getting to know them.”
Martin Lunt, managing director of Lunts Pharmacies, said he was pleased to have Mandy on board and she was an asset to the team.
Lunts, which has pharmacies in Hereford Road and Roushill in Shrewsbury, as well as Pontesbury and Craven Arms, celebrated 50 years in business last year.
As well as adding Mandy to the team, Mr Lunt has also invested in training his current staff.
Yvonne Hannah, also based at Hereford Road, has started an NVQ level three to become a dispensing technician and Lauren Wagstaff, who works from the Roushill pharmacy, is completing Accredited Checking Technician training.
