The Shrewsbury-based company specialises in solar panels, wood pellet boilers, solar thermal panels and wind turbines, will take part in the Energy Now Expo, on February 11 and 12.

The event, being held at the Telford International Centre in association with NatWest, demonstrates the latest technology and developments in the market of which 7 Energy is at the forefront.

7 Energy will present its solutions for renewable energy that are specifically targeted to the agricultural and rural sectors.

Managing director of 7 Energy, Martin Dowley, said: “Being based in a county like Shropshire has given us an advantage when it comes to knowing the issues around renewable energy for farmers and landowners.

“We’re looking forward to meeting delegates and explaining about the renewable energy options available to them and the projects we have completed across the region that are already saving our customers money on their energy bills.”

The company was also the installer of one of the region’s largest solar PV installations to date. The scheme saw more than 2,300 panels installed at two poultry farms owned by farmer Edward Davies, including a 150 metres-long ground array of 1,200 panels in Ludlow.

The flagship installation, which produces around 433,472 kWh a year, attracts the Feed-in-Tariff and should pay for itself within eight years.

Mr Dowley added: “The Government’s Renewable Heat Incentive scheme for commercial installations includes farm and agri-businesses and this gives clear financial benefits of renewable energy.

“For many of our customers, the RHI is paying out more via the incentive a year than the annual cost of the fuel. And with so many farms and rural businesses off gas-grid and reliant on costly oil to heat their properties, we are expecting a lot of interest at the Expo in our green heat systems.”

More than 160 product and service suppliers are exhibiting at the two-day event that includes a conference and expert panel debates on wind, biogas, biomass as well as solar and ground source heating.
