It was a daunting time when Sean Fairall first launched Emotion Studios in Claverley, near Bridgnorth. But now the business is thriving with plans by the 32-year-old to expand and open up more studios.
Mr Fairall, who grew up in Bridgnorth but lives in Shrewsbury, said: “I have had an amazing time over the last 10 years. I trained as a commercial product photographer and I had always wanted to have my own studio.
“I had not planned to launch my business when I was 23 and it was a little sooner than I had hoped. However, things happened and I took advantage of the opportunity.
“It was daunting at first because I had never had my own business and had always worked for somebody else. I have not looked back, though, and I have learnt so much.”
Mr Fairall, who founded Emotion Studios with his then business partner Ben Davies, said initially they had opened up a gardening company to help fund starting the studio.
Mr Fairall said: “The gardening company didn’t last too long though because the photography went so well that we went full-time about a year or so after we started.
“The last 10 years has been great – up and down like a rollercoaster. We are constantly growing and in the future I want to expand and open studios in other locations around the West Midlands.”
Mr Fairall was joined at the business about five years ago by fellow photographer, Lynsey Northall.
Emotion Studios has won accolades for its photographs and reached the last five out of more than 5,000 entries three years in a row in a national competition for its portrait photographs.
It has a growing reputation for its portrait as well as commercial product photography work.
Mr Fairall added: “Due to the wide variety of photography services we offer here, we get a range of people coming to our studio, from excited new parents to large family groups.
“Our aim is to ensure they have the most enjoyable time possible with us and that they go away happy with some beautiful images that they can treasure for years to come.”
