Jenny Osborne works full-time in the Shrewsbury office of Henshalls Insurance Brokers and she scooped a double success at the first ever Bizmums awards held this weekend in the town.
Her first award was for Exceptional Service – for which she had been nominated by Henshalls director Mark Freeman – and then she received the Overall Mum of the Year trophy, chosen from all the category winners on the day.
“I am absolutely overwhelmed to have won both these awards. To have even been shortlisted in my own category was incredible enough, but to then take the overall trophy too, I just can’t believe it,” said Jenny.
The awards were organised by the local Bizmums networking group and the ceremony took place at The Lord Hotel.
Jenny’s nomination said she was renowned for her excellent levels of customer service, and her reputation as a prolific networker. It detailed how she is a single parent working full-time office hours and also working out of hours from home.
Judges heard how she has worked hard to take positive action to tackle self-identified areas for improvement, enrolling on coaching courses which have benefited both her personal life and her business skills.
And Jenny’s success has come despite an ongoing battle with Epilepsy, which led to her losing her driving licence for 12 months, but she hasn’t let that stop her.
Bizmums founder, Michelle Childs, said:
“The awards ceremony and conference was a hugely exciting event for Bizmums. It was an opportunity to recognise some of the hard work and inspiration shown by mums in business across the county. The decision on who should win the overall award was very tough, but Jenny’s determination and commitment shone through and we felt she fully deserved to take the title.”
