Midland Computers, of Halesfield, in Telford, launched the competition as part of the Queen’s Diamond Jubilee year, asking schools to design a computer mouse-mat, featuring what they would like to see computers looking like in another 60 years time.
The competition is open to all school children between the ages of 5 and 11 and the winning design will then be put into production, with the successful entrant receiving a digital netbook for their own school.

Nick Dodd, sales and development manager for Midland Computers said: “We have been actively involved with celebrations for this very special year and thought that a competition would give youngsters the chance to show off their skills and imagination, together with the chance of winning a valuable prize for their school.
“The theme for the design is ‘futuristic computers’ looking at how computers have evolved over the years and what they may look like in 60 years time, we will then print the winning design onto mouse mats and distribute them to local primary schools.
