The huge event will see thousands of people converging on the county to take part in a wide array of computer games and competitions with a prize fund of £20,000, and local company Midland Computers of Halesfield in Telford is one of the major supporters.
Sales director Hedley Corcoran commented: “We will be exhibiting at the festival and thought it would be fun and a bit different to host some original computer games from over 20 years ago, such as Frogger & Galaxian, older in fact than most of the people attending!
“We will of course be displaying many new lines including Turtle Beach, Mad Catz, Intel, Gigabyte and also NVidia, the new generation of video gaming cards which have only been launched this week.
“Many visitors often get so excited about taking part in what is possibly the world’s biggest gaming festival that they forget to bring along those ‘vital components’, so we will also have a good supply of computer accessories and peripherals available on our stand to help them out.â€
The 4-day Insomnia event takes place from Friday until Monday 24th to 27th August and further information can be obtained from Telford International Centre on 01952 281500 or Midland Computers on 01952 588688.
