The Green Electrician was the fourth solar PV system installer in the country to become accredited from a list of in excess of 3,000. The company has vast experience in fitting domestic and agricultural solar PV systems of all sizes, both ground and roof mounted, making it one of the top 10 largest installers in the UK.
“Between us we hope to combine our knowledge and experience, whereby we introduce our current and new clients who are interested in solar panels to The Green Electrician who will carry out an initial survey,†explained Louise Roberts from Halls.
“The company is then able to advise on the installation of a system and provide a very good idea of the costs involved and the return that could be expected.
“If a client decides to go ahead based on what they say, The Green Electrician will seek approval from the Distribution Network Operator (DNO) and organise structural surveys and Halls will carry out the necessary work in order to obtain planning permission for the installation. The Green Electrician will fit the system, commission it and also monitor it thereafter.â€
Fitting solar panels provides an opportunity to generate your own electricity and receive a guaranteed income from Feed In Tariffs (FIT’s) for 25 years, resulting in a relatively low risk investment that also has tax benefits.
Panels can be either ground or roof mounted and installed in both single (<17Kw) and three phase systems.
“This is an excellent opportunity for all, even in light of the reduction in Feed In Tariffs available,†said Miss Roberts. “If clients are considering installing solar PV we would advise them to contact us as soon as possible in order to take advantage of the reducing costs of installationâ€.

Stephen Davies, director of The Green Electrician, said: “We are delighted to be working with Halls as we are both specialists in our area with exceptionally high standards. We look forward to bringing solar energy to their customers.
“All systems installed by The Green Electrician in recent months are already seeing a return on their investment in excess of their original expectations With proposed reductions in FITs, returns in the region of 10% can be expected.â€
The new FITs proposals are subject to an eight week consultation period, but if they are implemented, tariffs could drop considerably. An under 4kW retrofit or new build could drop from 43.3p to 21p, 4-10kW from 37.8p to 16.8p, 10-50 kW from 32.9p to 15.2p, 50-100 kW from 19p to 12.9p and 100-250kW from 15p to 12.9p
“The new tariff levels should not put people off installing solar PV,†said Miss Roberts. “In fact it has allowed suppliers to negotiate prices resulting in the cost of equipment coming down and returns in the region of 10% still being expected.â€
