Jethro Eustice has played for the South African Senior Mens team for the past 3 years, attending last year’s Hockey World Cup and then the 2014 Commonwealth Games whilst David Forrester is one of the current goalkeepers for the Scottish Mens Team and recently played at the European Indoor Hockey Championships. Both players play for Cannock Hockey Club in the Premier League and have joined the Staff at Shrewsbury High as full time coaches for training and fixtures for all the teams.
Linda Royston, Head of Sport at Shrewsbury High School, is excited to welcome them to the School, saying “Hockey has always been a strong sport at Shrewsbury High School and we have some extremely talented hockey players, including Nicole Bowen who has been selected for the U16 England Hockey Futures Cup squad. We are all extremely excited that our girls will be training with David and Jethro whose experience at International hockey will have countless benefits for our own players.”
The new coaches are also looking forward to the year ahead saying “We are really excited to be starting at Shrewsbury High and looking forward to the challenges ahead. Hopefully we will be able to pass some of our experiences in international hockey on to the girls, and continue the success of the hockey section at the school.”
