Man dies after being hit by a train at Prees

Train services between Shrewsbury and Crew were suspended following the incident at 5.30am this morning.

A West Midlands Ambulance Service spokesman said:

“West Midlands Ambulance Service was called to Prees Railway Station, Station Road, Prees, near Whitchurch to reports of a person being in collision with a train.

“An ambulance and a rapid response vehicle attended the scene.

“Unfortunately, it quickly became apparent that nothing could be done to save the man, and he was confirmed dead at the scene.”
